Join us for the Brave Charity Lunch in Support of Crisis Housing for Victims of Domestic and Family Violence
Magill College Sydney is honoured to host a Charity Cocktail Style Lunch in support of Kingsway Care, a registered charity providing crisis housing and vital support services to individuals and families affected by domestic and family violence. This special event takes place during Domestic and Family Violence Awareness Month, shining a light on the urgent need for safe and supportive housing for women and children escaping violence. Please join us for a moving afternoon as we hear from:
- A courageous survivor of domestic violence, who—thanks to Kingsway Care—was able to rebuild her life, find purpose, secure employment, and live independently.
- Brook Stewart, General Manager of Kingsway Care. With over two decades of experience supporting vulnerable members of our community, Brook is passionate about creating sanctuaries where people can feel safe, valued, and loved as they begin to heal.
- Stefanie Allan, Housing Manager of Platform Nine. Stef will speak about the importance of providing not just a roof over someone’s head, but also the support, belief, and community needed for people to rebuild their lives.
About Kingsway Care
Since 2014, Kingsway Care has been a cornerstone of support in South East Sydney, offering temporary and crisis accommodation to those experiencing homelessness—over 60% of whom have been impacted by domestic and family violence. We provide holistic care that meets the emotional, physical, spiritual, and practical needs of those we serve. Through services like Platform Nine, we help individuals and families transition from crisis to stability, restoring independence, confidence, and dignity. To date, we’ve supported over 2,000 women, men, and children, and our work continues to grow in response to the ever-increasing need. At this event, you’ll hear about Kingsway Care’s inspiring vision for the future—from housing and outreach to community transformation. Come along—not just to give, but to listen, learn, and connect. Together, we can break the cycle of violence and be part of a compassionate community that surrounds those in need with love, safety, and hope. This is more than just a lunch. It is a call to action that we hope you will join us in. By attending, you are not only raising awareness, but also helping to fund safe refuge and long-term solutions for those in crisis by helping spread the word and through a generous tax-deductible donation. Together, we can break the cycle of violence and offer hope and healing. Note: Alcohol will be served at this event.
